Heidi Klum’s iconic Halloween celebration is officially in the books for 2025–and she did not disappoint. Klum vaguely alluded to her look on social media pages, posting photos of oddly spiked teeth prosthetics and green face makeup. Naturally, fans were taking their guesses as to who she could be, ranging from Gill-Man from Creature from the Black Lagoon, to Greta the female gremlin from Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Despite the guesses, Heidi never fails to wow the crowd with her annual spooky ensemble.
Low and behold, the great Medusa. Heidi took a traditional approach, providing us with a textbook accurate rendition of the mythological character of Medusa. Online fans noted that Medusa is often oversexualized when it comes to dressing up as her or recreating her character, making Klum’s recreation a refreshing nod to the traditional character. Her unrecognizable face and body had been warped by several hours of special effects makeup and design, even giving us what looks to be a 7-8 foot long terrifying tail. On her head she wears the traditional snakes that Medusa is famous for, even giving them movement to appear as if they are real…and maybe they are!
The fine details in her costume are stunningly haunting. Her mouth itself completely transformed–with sharpened and small teeth, a lengthened tongue with black horizontal stripes, and a split at the end like a snake: consider me spooked!
And of course, we cannot forget about her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who is always a trooper when it comes to collaborating with Klum’s outfit. From being the egg to her peacock, the fisherman to her worm, Tom appeared at the event to be the stone knight to her Medusa. This showcases Medusa’s iconic power of transforming anyone who looks her in the eye into stone within an instant.
Heidi Klum’s Halloween event is always a huge success—but, to the world of fashion, it is a holiday. Happy Heidiween!
