Meet the new TFN writers team!
This is a short introduction joint post to Ragi Vyas the editor in chief of the TFN blog and Halena Laven the TFN blog director!
Hello wonderful readers!
My name is Halena Laven and I am this semester's blog director. I am so excited to contribute my ideas to TFN and I am excited to see what we will do this semester! I got into TFN as a writer my freshman year (which was only a short year ago) and I fell in love with what TFN is all about. I feel creative expression is an important part of anyone's college experience and TFN allows people the space to focus that creativity in a way that I have found is good for all who are involved. Being a blog director is such an honor for me and one of my personal goals this semester as blog director will be to foster and push writers to create work they can be proud of and allow them to have a safe space that they can be proud of even after they graduate. The Fashion Network has given me the chance to explore my passion for the creative arts, especially fashion and the expression of showing your passion through clothes and creating outfits. I have always been drawn to fashion and design because when I was young I wanted to be a fashion designer and was enamored with the feeling of watching people view my work and have it spark a new confidence in them. As I got older it was harder to turn that dream into a reality so I channeled it into something more and I started to find my own style and footing in the fashion world as a writer and viewer. I started keeping up with fashion week and designers which influenced my own style and having that outlet fueled my passion for writing as well as fashion. Other than fashion I am a communications major and I am also in AOII which is a sorority here on campus! I like to give 110% into everything I care about so making sure that the things I care about are taken care of is always at the forefront of my mind! I’m excited to get to know the amazing new writers team we have this year and if you are a reader that's interested in writing or sharing their art please feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comment section or contact our email. We love hearing from all of you! Best wishes to writers and readers alike and I can’t wait to share all the amazing work to come!
Hi readers,
My name is Ragi Vyas, and I’m thrilled to be the Editor-in-Chief this semester! I’m so excited to take on this role and work with the incredible writers and creatives at TFN.
I’m a graduate law student from Sweden, and this is my second semester on campus. Being a part of TFN, and especially the blog, has become one of my favorite experiences here, and I encourage anyone with even the slightest interest in fashion, writing, or current events to get involved with us!
My goal for the publication this semester is to expand our horizons by incorporating topics like sustainability and technology -Â I want to enhance our content by exploring the connections between fashion and the world around us while still staying true to our core focus on fashion and its cultural significance.
I can't wait to dive into both the blog and the publication this semester. If you're interested in writing for TFN, keep an eye on our Instagram stories for sign-ups and come to our writers' meetings—we'd love to have you!
